Excuses from trainees and participants often carry real constraints, and they also signal unclear purpose, low buy-in or a poorly designed task. Read them with empathy, as data, and ask what exit points a programme offers.
Workshop procedure
- Collect common excuses (“I don’t understand the point of this project”, …).
- Role-swap: imagine a student giving the same excuse. How would you respond?
- Teacher leaders analyse each excuse in a chart in breakout groups.
- Ask: what should a responsible adult or teacher leader do in response?
- “We are all adults with a number of responsibilities and commitments.”
Apply in my context (Claude)
- Before launching the Kasbiy rivojlanish checklisti, list the excuses you expect and design the answer into the system: purpose statements, time allowances, opt-in modules. The excuses tell you what the checklist will feel like to teachers.
