A B2 conversation lesson on irritating habits that bundles a functional set (complaining about habits) with idioms in context and a B2 First Part 4 key-word transformation: discussion and exam practice from one theme.

Structure

  1. Lead-in: what’s been getting on your nerves at home, in the street, on transport?
  2. Structures for annoyance: always + present continuous; keep + -ing; I wish you wouldn’t…; It drives me crazy when…; I can’t stand it when…; Would you mind + -ing?
  3. Four short texts about housemates; questions.
  4. Idioms from context (hog the bathroom, give the silent treatment), then discussion.
  5. Key-word transformation practice (2–5 words, keep the given word).

Why it’s a good model (Claude)

The functional set is the grammar FCE tests (wish + would, keep + -ing), so the transformation task recycles what was just used communicatively, instead of standing alone as test drill.
