A B2 vocabulary review that moves from recall (a class word cloud) to discrimination (false friends such as sensitive/sensible) to personalised speaking and writing with modifiers and tendency language.

Sequence (B2)

  1. Books open to review the unit’s adjectives, then books closed: students send all they remember via Wooclap → word cloud (frequency = size).
  2. AI-made slides explain false-friend pairs (sensitive/sensible, considerate/thoughtful) with MC and gap-fill items.
  3. Personality bingo: 6-square grid, 4–5 positive + 1–2 negative adjectives; teacher gives definitions or opposites.
  4. Speaking: justify choices with modifiers (fairly, quite, rather, pretty, extremely).
  5. Homework: 100–120-word email replying to a flat-share ad, two positive traits and one negative softened with I tend to… / I have a tendency to….

Why it’s good (Claude)

Recall before recognition (the word cloud is retrieval practice), then discrimination of confusable pairs, then generative use in a personal context. That’s the ordering vocabulary research supports. The homework is a ready PET/FCE email task.

  • Check AI explanations before class; false-friend explanations are where models get confidently wrong.
